We enter the story as Peter and John have been in jail over night for healing a cripled man. At their trial we hear a very bold and articulate Peter declare who Jesus is. The Holy Spirit is emboldening this new community of Christ followers leading to some very exciting times for this young church

Today we hear how the mission of Jesus is continuing in Kosovo. Compass has a partnership through the Portland Metro Network with a team in Kosovo; and one of our own, Carrie Dyk is part of that team. Ron and Lisa Ramsey lead that team and will be sharing this morning.

The first recorded healing in the early church is done “in the name of Jesus …”. We see the reaction of the healed man & the crowd and hear Peter’s response: this is all about Jesus.

Within a day the church in Jerusalem had grown from 120 to 3120. We see today how the church responded to that growth and what that large community looked like.

Today we’ll examine Peter’s words as he explains to a bewildered crowd the meaning behind the apostles’ amazing and spontaneous ability to declare the wonders of God so that a crowd of people can understand in their own native languages.
